Join us for a great time in a family-friendly environment!The evening will consist of 2 short lessons, approx 20 min each, interspersed with social dancing.At 7 p.m. we will learn a beginner dance, which will be followed by some open dancing.At 8 p.m. we will learn a beginner/intermediate dance.
From 8:30 to 9:30 it is social/open dance. It doesn't matter if it is your 1st time or 20th time we promise you will have fun! Stamp Out ICE is a collection of small artworks created in protest of ICE on perforated, postage-stamp-like sheets. The show features over a dozen artists from across the U.S. and Canada, including three from Minneapolis, all expressing their ire over the federal takeover of many U.S. cities.
Visitors are invited to view the collection of stamp artwork, create postcards, explore a library of mail art books, and see a firsthand demonstration of artistamp perforation on an 1888 patented Rosback perforator.
Anicira Veterinary Center is excited to host the first-ever Mutt Strut 5K, a dog-friendly event through Harrisonburg’s Friendly City Trail and Hillandale Park.The Mutt Strut 5K is designed for dogs and humans alike. Every dog participant will receive a special race bandana, and runners and walkers without pets are warmly welcome. Whether chasing a personal record or just chasing squirrels, participants can enjoy springtime exercise while supporting a vital cause: 100% of race proceeds benefit Anicira Veterinary Center, helping pet families facing medical uncertainties when their pets become sick or injured.The race starts at 9:00 AM, and March 7 is the final day to register and be guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt. Join us for a screening of In Search of Phillis Wheatley Peters, a film offering a new lens on the life of the first Black person to become a published poet in the United States. The screening will also feature a reading of Phillis Wheatley’s work and a Q&A with the directors and Furious Flower Founder, Dr. Joanne Gabbin, who also appears in the film. A farm-to-table experience that will fuel our growth: Chef Throwdown Benefiting Jones Gardens- September 7, 2026 @ 5:30pm (Location TBD)
Jones Gardens invites Virginia chefs to apply for a friendly Farm-to-Table Chef Throwdown, featured as part of a lively, ticketed fundraising dinner celebrating local food, farms, and community.
Each selected chef will be paired with a Virginia farm and challenged to create a dish that highlights the farm’s ingredients and a thoughtful farm-to-table approach. Guests will enjoy the event as both entertainment and dining, tasting inspired dishes while cheering on chef–farm teams.
All proceeds benefit Jones Gardens, and help fuel our operations, particularly a new and exciting venture that will break soon break ground, which will bring more programming and education to the community.
What Chefs Receive
Stipend for participation Volunteer assistance during prep and service (if needed) Exposure to a broad, food-loving community audience through our social media and website, as well as potential to be featured in local news broadcastings Collaboration with a Virginia farm A fun, high-energy competition for a meaningful cause
Chef Requirements (Seeking 2-3 chefs)
Must apply via the Jones Gardens website Must Prepare at least one dish that contributes to the full course meal (either an appetizer, entree or desert) Submit a short video clip showing yourself preparing a dish and explaining your process Be genuinely passionate about Jones Gardens’ mission and local food systems
